How PrebPay collects, uses, shares and protects your information across recharges, bill payments and the PrebPay Wallet.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Prebaird Private Limited (“PrebPay”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use the PrebPay platform, website and apps. We comply with applicable Indian data-protection law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
2. Information we collect
- Identity & contact: name, mobile number, email and KYC details where required by law.
- Transaction data: recharges, bill payments, wallet activity, amounts and references.
- Device & usage: IP address, device and browser details, and how you interact with the app.
- Payment data: handled by PCI-DSS compliant gateways (PayU, Razorpay, Cashfree); we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages and details you share when you contact support or raise a complaint.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to process recharges and bill payments, operate your PrebPay Wallet, verify identity and prevent fraud, provide customer support, send service and transaction notifications, meet legal and regulatory obligations, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal basis & consent
We process personal data on the basis of your consent and to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements.
6. Data security & retention
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring — to protect your data. We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by applicable law and regulatory record-keeping rules, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- access and obtain a copy of your personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data, subject to legal/regulatory retention;
- withdraw consent and nominate another person to exercise your rights under the DPDP Act.

9. Children
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Grievances are handled by our support team at the contacts above. For bill-payment disputes you may also use the Bharat Connect complaint mechanism with your BBPS reference ID.
