Terms & Conditions
The terms that govern your use of PrebPay for recharges, bill payments over Bharat Connect, and the PrebPay Wallet.
1. Acceptance of these terms
PrebPay is a digital recharge and bill-payment platform operated by Prebaird Private Limited (“PrebPay”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, its website or apps (together, the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility & your account
You must be at least 18 years old and competent to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for completing any KYC required under applicable RBI and regulatory norms.
- Keep your login credentials, MPIN and OTPs confidential — never share them with anyone, including people claiming to be from PrebPay.
- You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@prebpay.in if you suspect any unauthorised use.
- One person may hold only one account unless we expressly permit otherwise.
3. Our services
PrebPay enables prepaid mobile and DTH recharges, utility and bill payments over Bharat Connect (BBPS), and a prepaid PrebPay Wallet. Service availability depends on operators, billers, banks and our partners and may change, be limited or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
We are a technology platform that facilitates these transactions; the underlying service (e.g. the recharge or the bill) is provided by the relevant operator or biller.
4. PrebPay Wallet
- The Wallet is a prepaid balance you load and use to pay on the Platform.
- Wallet balance is non-interest bearing and may be subject to limits set under RBI Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) guidelines.
- Wallet money cannot be transferred to another user or withdrawn as cash except where expressly permitted by law and by us.
- We may freeze or reverse Wallet balance arising from failed, fraudulent, duplicate or erroneous transactions.
5. Payments & payment gateways
You may add money or pay using your PrebPayWallet or through third-party payment gateways such as PayU, Razorpay and Cashfree (UPI, net-banking, debit/credit cards and other supported methods). Such payments are also governed by the respective gateway’s terms. We do not store full card or banking credentials — these are handled by the PCI-DSS compliant gateway.
6. Pricing, charges & rewards
The payable amount, any convenience fee, and the cashback or commission you may earn are shown before you confirm a transaction. By confirming, you authorise us to debit the displayed payable amount. Taxes apply as per law. We may revise pricing prospectively at any time.
7. Bill payments over Bharat Connect
Bill payments are processed through Bharat Connect (BBPS), operated by NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. By making a bill payment you also accept the applicable Bharat Connect customer terms. A successful payment is confirmed with a BBPS transaction reference and is covered by the Be Assured guarantee.
8. Refunds & cancellations
Recharges and bill payments, once successful, generally cannot be cancelled or reversed. Failed transactions are handled as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which describes refund routes and timelines. Please review that policy before transacting.
9. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorised purpose, including to:
- launder money or fund any illegal activity;
- use stolen, unauthorised or another person’s payment instrument;
- abuse promotions, cashback or referral programmes through fake or bulk accounts;
- attempt to probe, scan, overload or breach the security of the Platform.
We may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts and hold or reverse balances where these terms are breached.
10. Intellectual property
The PrebPay name, logo, software and content are owned by or licensed to Prebaird Private Limited and are protected by law. You may use the Platform only for its intended personal/business purpose and may not copy, modify or redistribute any part without our written consent.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any transaction is limited to that transaction’s amount. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by operators, billers, banks, payment gateways, telecom networks or events beyond our reasonable control.
12. Grievance redressal
For any issue, raise a complaint in-app (Help & Complaint) or contact us at support@prebpay.in or 8116613429. Bill-payment disputes are also addressed through the Bharat Connect complaint mechanism. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them within the timelines prescribed by applicable regulations. Full contact details appear at the end of this page.
13. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of our registered officeshall have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Grievances are handled by our support team at the contacts above. For bill-payment disputes you may also use the Bharat Connect complaint mechanism with your BBPS reference ID.
